TBILISI, MARCH 26. /RIA NOVOSTI / -- Georgian border guards argue that a Russian military helicopter has violated the air space of Georgia.

Beso Kvitsiani, head of the operative direction Kodori Gorge of the Georgian Border Protection Department, told the Novosti-Georgia news agency that at 10:05, Moscow time, on Friday a Russian helicopter Mi-24 invaded the air space of Georgia above the Kodori gorge (the only region of Abkhazia remaining under Georgia's control after the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict).

"The Russian helicopter has flown to Georgia and was spotted above the Kvabchara village. The helicopter has penetrated one kilometre into the territory of Georgia", Kvitsiani said.

According to him, the helicopter remained in Georgia's air space for about ten minutes.
