MOSCOW, September 24 (RIA Novosti) – There are “serious grounds” to believe that areas near the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, where a mass grave was discovered recently, were previously controlled by the pro-government National Guard, the Russian foreign ministry’s human rights representative said Wednesday.

“There are very serious grounds to believe that this territory was controlled by the National Guard battalions, and this points at possible perpetrators and organizers of these crimes,” said Konstantin Dolgov, the ministry’s special representative for human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
