MOSCOW, September 4 (RIA Novosti) - A preliminary report on the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash in eastern Ukraine is expected to be issued on September 9, Dutch Safety Board spokeswoman Sara Vernooij told RIA Novosti Thursday.

“The Dutch Safety Board will issue the MH17 preliminary report on Tuesday 9 September,” Vernooij said, adding, “The preliminary report will present factual information based on the sources available to the Dutch Safety Board.”

“In the months to come further investigation is needed before the final report can be written. The Dutch Safety Board expects to publish the final report within a year after the crash,” she added.

The Malaysia Airlines aircraft crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17, while en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. All 298 people on board, including 283 passengers and 15 crew members, died in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains unknown, with the Ukrainian government placing the blame on independence supporters who deny the allegations, saying they do not possess the means to shoot targets flying at such high altitudes.
