Russia Hands Over 63 Ukrainian Soldiers - Airborne Forces

Russia has handed over 63 Ukrainian soldiers who crossed the Russian border on August 27, the deputy commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, Major-General Aleksei Ragozin, said on Sunday.

NEKHOTEEVKA, August 31 (RIA Novosti)- Russia has handed over 63 Ukrainian soldiers who crossed the Russian border on August 27, the deputy commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, Major-General Aleksei Ragozin, said on Sunday.

“The relevant authorities have just handed over 63 Ukrainian military men, who have crossed the Russian border on August, 27,” Ragozin said, adding that the soldiers were accommodated in a temporary camp where they received all the assistance needed.

“Today the aircraft of the military transport aviation has brought the Ukrainian soldiers to the civil airport of Belgorod, they were taken by buses to the Nekhoteevka checkpoint, where they were handed over to the Ukrainian side,” Ragozin explained.

Earlier the Russian Federal Security Bureau (FSB ) State Border Guard Department in Rostov said that Russia opened a transit corridor for more than 60 Ukrainian soldiers who have requested asylum.
