WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The pilot slammed on the brakes after a rough landing and travelers said they could smell burning rubber, WPIX television said Thursday.
Pence, who is also governor of the state of Indiana, told reporters that he was unhurt and that none of the 36 other passengers appeared to sustain injuries, according to the report.
The jet, which is operated by the presidential campaign of Pence's running mate, Republican nominee Donald Trump, arrived from Fort Dodge, Iowa. Its takeoff had been delayed because of bad weather along the way.
