06:40 GMT 28.09.2016 (Updated: 11:16 GMT 06.08.2022) An African-American man described as "erratic" has died in hospital after being shot by police in the US state of California, the local police department said in a statement.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The El Cajon Police Department said Tuesday two of its officers responded to "an erratic subject" in the San Diego Area that ended in an officer-involved shooting.
"Officers provided first aid on scene until medics arrived and transported the subject to an area hospital for treatment. The subject has passed away as a result of his injuries," the department said via Twitter.

Chief of Police Jeff Davis later told reporters the unidentified man in his 30s was unarmed. He added that a witness offered a video of the shooting that would be used as part of an investigation.
The police department said the two officers will be put on administrative leave after an investigation into the shooting wraps up.
