WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US presidential race in the state of Nevada has changed course, with Republican nominee Donald Trump now leading Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, a new poll revealed on Wednesday.

Trump has the support of 44 percent of likely Nevada voters, compared to 42 percent for Clinton and 8 percent for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson.

The poll had a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points.

Nevada, considered a "battleground state" in the November 8 election, has six votes in the Electoral College, which formally elects US presidents. A candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes to win the presidency.
