MOSCOW, November 8 (RIA Novosti) — More than 40,000 Ukrainian refugees remain in temporary accommodation on the territory of Russia, the spokesperson for the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Drobyshevsky said in a statement Saturday.

"There are 844 temporary accommodation centers in the Russian regions, more than 40,000 people forced to leave Ukraine are currently living there, including almost 12,500 children," Drobyshevsky said.

According to the spokesperson, the refugees are provided with everything they need, including medical and psychological assistance.

Drobyshevsky has noted that the Russian Emergencies Ministry had successfully delivered its latest humanitarian aid to the Donbas region.

"More than 7,600 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to Luhansk and Donetsk between August 23 and October 4," the spokesperson stated.

Since August, Russia has sent six aid convoys to eastern Ukraine, which has been suffering from a humanitarian crisis since Kiev launched a military operation against the region's independence supporters in April, making thousands to flee the country.
