    Russia's Emergencies Minister signed an agreement with his Chinese counterpart on cooperation in the prevention and management of emergency situations, the ministry's spokesman Alexander Drobyshevsky said Monday.

    MOSCOW, August 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Emergencies Minister signed an agreement with his Chinese counterpart on cooperation in the prevention and management of emergency situations, the ministry's spokesman Alexander Drobyshevsky said Monday.

    "According to the document, the sides plan to create a joint commission on the prevention of and recovery from emergency situations; to exchange experience, information, technology in the area of protecting the population from disasters; to train staff; and to create a mechanism for cooperation in reacting to emergency situations, including those near the border," Drobyshevsky said.

    Russia’s Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov met with the China's Minister of Civil Affairs Li Liguo in Beijing on Monday.

    The two nations plan to prepare a cooperation program for 2015-2016 and establish direct ties between information controlling centers and Russia's Emergencies Ministry's operational units and China's Ministry of Civil Affairs.
