Ahmad Khan Rahami: The Naturalized Face of American Terror

Ahmad Khan Rahami: The Naturalized Face Of American Terror

A naturalized American citizen and original native of Afghanistan became the most wanted man in America after his alleged involvement in the East Coast explosions shocked the nation and sparked a new debate on immigrants and homegrown terrorism.

Ahmad Khan Rahami was apprehended after a shootout with police in New Jersey, and it was afterwards revealed that he recently spent years in his native Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan where some people believe that he might have been radicalized.

His capture is now raising questions about the wisdom of accepting immigrants from terrorist-afflicted countries, something which has been a hallmark of Trump’s campaign this season, and it’s also making Americans very concerned that there could be countless more terrorists among them. Hillary and the Democrats’ phobia in directly addressing this problem might also be playing to the electoral advantage of Trump and the Republicans.

Andrej Krickovic, professor, Higher School of Economics; Alexander Azagdan, professor of Strategic Global Management & International Political Economy from California; and Israel Shamir, Israeli independent expert commented on the issue.
