What Would Saint Patrick Think of Apple Tax?
08:54 GMT 27.09.2016 (Updated: 09:31 GMT 27.09.2016) On today’s episode of Double Down, hosts Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert are joined by Member of the European Parliament, Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan, to discuss the latest on the Apple tax battle.
Saint Augustine of Hippo once asked, In the absence of justice, what is sovereignty but organized robbery? What would Saint Patrick of Ireland say as the government votes to fight the European Commision on Apple tax? Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan, an Irish independent politician, currently serving as a Member of the European Parliament for the Midlands–North-West constituency, believes justice is not served by providing Apple with a safe haven for organized robbery of other European nations and that the EC ruling does not contravene Ireland’s sovereignty for their 12.5% tax rate is not the issue.
