TALLINN, September 16 (RIA Novosti) - US armored vehicles have started to arrive in Estonia ahead of three-month drills starting in October, the General Staff of Estonian Defense Force said Monday.
A reader of the Postimees newspaper had earlier photographed trailers carrying heavy military equipment toward the town of Tapa. The shots showed armored vehicles of the Stryker type.
The US Army's armored infantry company, which includes M-1 Abrams tanks, infantry combat vehicles and armored vehicles, is expected to arrive for training in Estonia in October.
The Baltic states and Poland are to receive four squadrons with a total of 600 servicemen of the First Brigade of the First Cavalry Division of the US Army. They will replace the paratroopers of 173rd Airborne Brigade currently at the site.
