MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier on Saturday, a source from Geneva familiar with the situation in Aleppo told RIA Novosti that the armed groups prevented the ICRC mission from evacuating the wounded from the eastern districts of Aleppo and demanded medical aid to their fighters in exchange for access.

“Yes, we are really facing difficulties, the situation is changing, various difficulties are emerging but we do not stop talks and still have a hope to use the humanitarian pause and to carry out medical evacuations that are regarded by us as the main goal as well as to gain access there [eastern Aleppo] in the future,” Zotikova told RIA Novosti.
