MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The detention was performed by Turkey's counterterrorism police in four provinces throughout the country on the grounds of detention warrants issued by the Izmir courthouse, according to Hurriyet daily.
Manhunt for 25 more suspects is reported to be underway.
Some of the detainees allegedly communicated via ByLock application, used by Gulen movement to connect around 180,000 members, the newspaper said.
A coup attempt took place in Turkey late on July 15 and was suppressed next day. US-based cleric Gulen denies all allegations about his role in the events associated with the coup attempt.
