MOSCOW (Sputnik) French national police chief Jean-Marc Falcone announced the introduction of a number of measures to increase security of law enforcement staff in light of recent protests, local media reports.

"As the chief of these people [police officers] I understand their serious concerns. I also share almost all of their demands," Falcone said, as quoted by the French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche.

According to the newspaper, Falcone mentioned creating special tablet devices that would allow to inform about emergency  and improving the vehicles’ protection among the other innovations.

Besides, Falcone announced the review of the supervision operations’ system.

In recent months, several French police officers were seriously injured amid police violence during anti-labor reform protests. Earlier in October, a gang of unknown attackers petrol-bombed a police car south of Paris, injuring officers.

On Friday, representatives of the law enforcement services gathered in front of the headquarters of the Directorate-General of the French Police to protest against lack of self-defense equipment. Similar demonstrations took place in many French cities.
