A moratorium on the issue of licenses in the Russian shelf may be valid for three to four years, Russian Federal Agency for the Use of Natural Resources head Evgeny Kiselev said Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In September, Russian Environment Minister Sergei Donskoi said that Russia, given the amount of work carried out at the shelf by state companies and current macroeconomic situation, made a decision to introduce a temporary moratorium on the issue of new licenses at the shelf.

“I think, at least [it can last for] a period similar to the one of postponing agreements, which is 3-4 years,” Kiselev said when answering a corresponding question.
