Germana Chiodi, secretary of former Italian entrepreneur and millionaire Bernardo Caprotti, inherited 75 million euros after Caprotti died on September 30, 2016, at the age of 90 in Milan.

Chiodi, 68 years old, had been working for her boss Bernardo Caprotti for the past 48 years. The millionaire was the creator of the large (fourth largest in the country) Italian supermarkets chain called Esselunga.

In his will, Caprotti left half of his inheritance to his favorite secretary. Now the woman will receive about 69 million euros after tax on the inheritance (inheritance in Italy is taxed at 8 percent for those who are not related to deceased).

The other half will be divided between five nephews of the millionaire, each of whom will receive 15 million each.

In his will Caprotti wrote that “to her [Chiodi] I want to express my infinite gratitude for the support she has given to me during all these years.”

During his life Caprotti bequeathed 70% of the stakes of his holding company to his wife Giuliana Albera and their daughter Marina. To his daughter’s husband, Caprotti left his favorite Bentley.

To his children from his first marriage, Giuseppe and Violetta, the millionaire left 30% of the company’s holdings.

In his will he stated that this distribution of wealth will be “for the benefit of all members of the family.”

He also expressed hope that “no one else will complain about the money” and that there will be no future disputes or litigation over his inheritance.
