New Delhi (Sputnik) — Cutting hair using a burning candle sounds awkward, but it’s true. A barber in Gulbarga in Karnataka has come up with an unusual technique to style hair.
Dashrath, the barber, runs a Men’s Salon in Gulbarga, Karnataka where he has been styling people’s hair using candle flames.
According to Dashrath, “The idea came to my mind when I thought to do something interesting in styling the hair. I usually hold up a candle to light up my salon during power cuts. Then suddenly the idea of cutting hair using the flames of the burning candle came up. I am styling people’s hair using this unique technique and customers really like my haircuts.”
Dashrath is very popular in his home town as residents like his method of styling.
According to a customer, “When first of all Dashrath asked me about this new technique of cutting hair, I was reluctant. But when he cut my hair using the flames it really looked nice on me. I like this new technique.”
Candle cutting, or hair styling using flames, is quite popular in South America where it is believed to have originated from. From there this technique has traveled to many countries. People using this style believe that burning the twisted, unhealthy strands helps hair to grow longer and stay healthier.
