The service is free, and its goal is to reconcile offended people with each other. The volunteers take calls from those who want to apologize, and then call their friends, lovers, mothers, fathers, children and relatives and ask for forgiveness on their behalf. All one needs to do is to tell the volunteers for what one wants to apologize and to whom.
"We love people and want to spare them the suffering of their hearts," one of the volunteers, İlkay Mustafa Güneş, told Anadolu news agency. "This is our own initiative, we do it with love and for free. People from different provinces call us. The desire of people to apologize to those whom they offended is already a good start. Our only goal is to teach people to ask for forgiveness," he added.
The service was launched four months ago and volunteers have already managed to help over 10,000 people. The team consists of 26 volunteers who apologized to 6,379 people during this time.
"We asked for forgiveness mothers, children, beloved ones and friends. We reconciled 300 offended people. Many managed to overcome the resentment they felt for many years. Sometimes we failed, but in most cases our apologies were accepted," Güneş said.
Those who want to use the service can find phone numbers on its official page in Facebook, Instagram or Twitter (the name of the page in Turkish is Eskişehir Özür Dileme Servisi).
