Germany Received 10.5% More Oil via Druzhba Pipeline in 2016 - Transneft
Germany received 21 million metric tons of oil via the Druzhba pipeline in 2016, what is 10.5 percent higher than in the previews year, Nikolai Tokarev, the president of Russia's Transneft oil transport company, said Friday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Druzhba pipeline was constructed in 1964. It begins from Almetyevsk, Russia and runs to Mozyr, Belarus where it splits into a northern and a southern branch. The northern branch carries Russian oil to Poland and Germany via Belarus, and the southern to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia via Ukraine. The total length of the Druzhba pipeline system is 5,530 miles.

"This year, a little bit higher [volume of oil] will be supplied to Germany — 21 million tonnes, compared to 19 million tonnes of last year," Tokarev told Rossiya 24 broadcaster.
Tokarev noted that the partners were interested in the continuous running of the Druzhba pipeline, while the company also tried to provide the requested volumes of oil and good service.
"The Druzhba pipeline is in demand. The statistics over the past years show that the volume of oil supplied through the southern branch via Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and through the northern branch via Belarus to Poland and Germany is approximately at the same level," Tokarev said.
