The Russian card has become an integral part of US election rhetoric, the Kremlin spokesman observed in wake of Donald Trump's accusations.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia does not interfere and does not intend to meddle in the continuing US presidential campaign amid escalating anti-Russian rhetoric, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday.

"This pre-election rhetoric is continuing, debate continues within the election campaign. Russia has not interfered and does not intend to intervene in all these discussions," Peskov told reporters.

Republican nominee Donald Trump accused Russia at a rally on Tuesday of breaking down the cessation of hostilities deal in Syria brokered with the United States. Trump said President Vladimir Putin "has no respect" for the US leadership as the reason behind the breakdown.

"The rhetoric of all participants in the election campaign is subject to such opportunistic changes… Of course, we would like to see our country to be featured only in a positive sense, but unfortunately we know that the Russian card and the mention of our president has become an integral part of the US election campaign," Peskov reiterated.
