TOMSK, May 22 (RIA Novosti) – Space imaging studies have revealed over 10 new oil deposits in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in East Siberia, with one of them comparable to the giant Yurubcheno-Tokhomo field, a scientist from Tomsk Polytechnic University said on Wednesday.
“The method of space imaging quantum-optical filtration allows us to identify the boundaries of deposits,” Valery Rostovtsev, associate professor of the university’s geology and prospecting department, told RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the Tomsk innovation forum.
“We can see four deposits near Bely Yar in the Tomsk Region, quite a large field near Komsomolsk-on-Amur and 12 deposits between the Yurubcheno-Tokhomo deposit and the Angara River. One of them is possibly comparable with the Yurubcheno-Tokhomo field.”
