Putin, Poroshenko to Meet in Milan on Friday: Italian Government Press Service

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko will meet on Friday morning in Milan, the Italian Government's press service said on Wednesday evening.

ROME, October 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko will meet on Friday morning in Milan, the Italian Government's press service said on Wednesday evening.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, UK Prime Minister David Cameron as well as the head of European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and Italian Foreign Affairs Minister Federica Mogherini will also be present at the meeting.

The meeting will be moderated by Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, who will make a statement for the media following the close of the meeting.

The press service of the Palazzo Chigi also reported that Renzi will have one-to-one meetings with Poroshenko and Putin on Tuesday and Friday respectively.

The meeting of Putin and Poroshenko will take place amid the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Milan from October 16 to October 17, with around 50 other leaders in addition to those of Russia, Italy, Germany, France, Great Britain and Ukraine participating. The meeting will aim to call for responsible partnership in the name of the sustainable development and strengthening of global security.
