MOSCOW, October 9 (RIA Novosti) - Protests have started in Ferguson immediately after another young African-American, Vonderrick Myers, reported to be in his early 20s, was shot dead by an off-duty police officer Wednesday, as seen on one of the protesters' live stream videos on Ustream.

“This is a long fight… he is supposed to protect us…” the protesters said as they continued their march across the city in protest against the shooting.

Some people marching in St. Louis are chanting slogans, including: "We're young, we're strong, we're marching all night long!" and "Fight back, fight back!", RT.com reports.

The protesters said that it was the police's fault, not theirs, hinting that the police would soon attempt to disperse the crowd.

Vonderrick Myers was shot dead on Wednesday evening by an off-duty police officer who tried to make a pedestrian check, CNN said.

According to local police, Myers ran away and fired at the white police officer, forcing return fire to be opened.

Meanwhile, in her conversation with St. Louis Today, Teyonna Myers, the cousin of the killed Vonderrick Myers, denied that Myers was armed.

The ongoing unplanned march has come ahead of “A Weekend of Resistance” set to start in Ferguson on October 10 in protest against the August killing of another African-American, the 18-year-old Michael Brown, by white police officer Darren Wilson, who remains at large.
