76% of Britons Interested in Finding Out Truth About Crimes Conducted in Ukraine: Poll

A vast majority of Britons (76 percent) support an investigation into crimes conducted during the Ukrainian conflict, with almost all Britons highlighting the importance of investigating crimes against humanity, according to a poll conducted by ICM company at the request of Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency.

MOSCOW, October 6 (RIA Novosti) - A vast majority of Britons (76 percent) support an investigation into crimes conducted during the Ukrainian conflict, with almost all Britons highlighting the importance of investigating crimes against humanity, according to a poll conducted by ICM company at the request of Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency.

Seventy-five percent of Britons say it is necessary to investigate crimes conducted in Ukraine. It is also worth noting that 84 percent of Britons aged between 35 and 44, and 63 percent of those aged over 65 support this idea, while only 22 percent of British respondents oppose the investigation.

Almost everyone (99 percent) said it was necessary to carry out an investigation into crimes against humanity, while 95 percent said an investigation should focus on journalist tortures and killings in Ukraine. Ninety-two percent are interested in finding out the true causes of Malaysia Airlines crash near the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine.

ICM conducted a telephone poll and questioned 3,006 randomly selected adults on September 17-28 in the United Kingdom, Germany and France. ICM is a member of the British Polling Council and fully complies with its regulations.

In September, several mass graves filled with the bodies of massacred civilians and independence supporters, killed execution-style, were unearthed 35 kilometers northeast of Donetsk in the village of Nyzhnia Krynka.

In July, Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur crashed in eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board. A preliminary report on the crash released by the Dutch Safety Board suggested that the plane was hit by high-energy objects.

In May, Right Sector gunmen, together with pro-Kiev militants, blocked the anti-government protesters in the House of Trade Unions in the city of Odessa and set the building on fire, killing at least 48 people and injuring more than 200.
