MOSCOW, October 5 (RIA Novosti) - A US doctor, released from a medical facility in Omaha, Nebraska, after receiving treatment for the Ebola virus, has been taken to hospital again, CNN reported Sunday.

Dr. Richard Sacra was treated in isolation at the Nebraska Medical Center. He was released after he had tested negative for Ebola.

On Saturday, he went to a hospital in Boston with a cough and fever, fearing he might have pneumonia. Doctors at the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where Sacra was transferred to, do not believe the doctor's symptoms are a recurrence of Ebola.

However, he has placed into isolation again until the doctors have found the cause of the current symptoms. Final test results are expected on Monday.

Sacra worked as a medical missionary in Liberia, one of the virus-stricken countries in West Africa. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data, the total number of people infected with Ebola in Liberia is 3,834, with 2,069 deaths.

According to the World Health Organization, the Ebola virus death toll has passed 3,400, with Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone hit the hardest. Nigeria and Senegal have also registered cases of the disease.

There is no officially approved cure for the virus. However, several countries, including Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan, are working on a vaccine.
