MOSCOW, September 22 (RIA Novosti) – Russia and Ukraine have no problems in delimiting their common border, the Russian president’s envoy for border demarcation issues said Monday.

"There are no border problems, because treaties were signed on these issues and the border has been fully delimited. So, every side has a clear understanding of where the border between the two states goes," Russian ambassador-at-large Igor Bratchikov said at a press conference at Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency.

He said that Russia was not planning any reinforcements on its border with Ukraine.

"The Russian side is not planning such measures," Bratchikov noted.

In recent months Ukraine has accused Russia and its troops of illegally crossing the border, claims that Moscow officially denies.

Earlier in September Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said Ukraine was commencing work on a "Wall" project that envisaged the construction of an actual state border with Russia within six months.

The statement was made in connection with Russia updating its military doctrine by the end of 2014 to reflect new security threats, including the expansion of NATO, US missile shield plans and the political crisis in Ukraine.

The border of Russia with Ukraine was changed in mid-March following Russia's reunification with its former republic of Crimea which drove a wedge between Moscow and largely pro-Kiev Western countries led by the United States. The split prompted a major geopolitical standoff and rounds upon rounds of sanctions from the European Union and Washington.
