MOSCOW, September 21 (RIA Novosti) - Alex Salmond, former Scottish prime minister who quit two days after the victory of the 'No' campaign, has stated that 'No' voters were 'tricked' by Westminster's assurances of more devolution, Sky News reported Sunday.
"The people who are really angry are those people who were persuaded to vote 'No'. It looks like they were tricked. So I think we have to rally Scotland to make sure we force the promises that were made," Salmond told Sky News during an interview Sunday.
In answer to the question whether or not Scotland would come back to the issue should it be discovered the Scots were tricked, Salmond said there are many ways Scotland can press its demands for independence in the future.
"I think that's gonna happen… when you have a situation where the majority of a country up to the age of 55 is already voting for independence… I think the writing is on the wall for Westminster. I think the destination is pretty certain," Salmon stated.
According to Salmond, the referendum on September 18 was "the right way to proceed".
The Scottish independence referendum took place on September 18 in which 55.3 percent of the Scots cast a 'No' vote. The independence of Scotland was supported by 44.7 percent of the population.
