ABERDEEN, September 9 (RIA Novosti) - An international Aberdeen-based businessman with 40 years experience in the oil, aerospace and defense sectors has switched his support in favor of Scottish independence.
"In my considered view, Scotland would do better being independent. The oil that Scotland has is a huge asset and No campaign propaganda about it running out is absolute nonsense," Ian Godden, Chairman of Glenmore Energy and a Director with Bristows Helicopters Group, said in a statement published Tuesday.
Godden had previously been involved in the No campaign against independence.
A referendum on whether Scotland should be an independent country will take place on September 18. Scots be asked one question, "Should Scotland be an independent country?" If voters back leaving the UK, Scotland could be independent on March 24, 2016.
