MOSCOW, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - The Malaysia Airlines tragedies has revealed the country's interdependent situation and need for the development of a global mindset while preserving Malaysian identity, Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Monday.

"We can only succeed if we have a global mindset. All these, agencies and bodies that we see such as Tabung Haji must have a global mind set and also Felda. We must have all these to uplift our dignity to a higher level," Razak was quoted as saying by Astro Awani when speaking at the Prime Minister's Department monthly assembly at Perdana Square.

Razak explained that the MH370 and MH17 crashes provided a lesson that the world is unavoidably hyper connected. Not only do tragedies impact the entire world, but economies as well, the news agency reported.

The Prime Minister claimed a balance between a new mindset and traditional self-identity were key to creating a more competitive and successful Malaysia.

The MH370 Flight took off from Kuala Lumpur and was travelling to Beijing on March 8 carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members and allegedly disappeared into the southern Indian Ocean. Flight MH17, flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on July 17 in the Donetsk region killing all 298 people aboard.
