KIEV, September 5 (RIA Novosti) – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko confirmed the signing of a preliminary protocol to a ceasefire agreement, adding that it would come into force Friday.
“A preliminary protocol to the ceasefire agreement was signed in Minsk. This protocol will come into force Friday,” Poroshenko wrote in his Twitter.
Representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics said the protocol will come into force at 14:00 GMT Friday.
A spokesman for the military command, Leonid Matyukhin, told RIA Novosti that the Kiev troops have so far received no orders to cease fire.
