MOSCOW, September 4 (RIA Novosti) - The next round of Iran-Six talks on Iran's nuclear ambitions is scheduled to be held in New York on September 18, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton's spokesman Michael Mann said Thursday.

"The talks between the E3/EU+3 and Iran, led by High Representative Ashton, will continue in New York as of 18th September," Mann said.

After a meeting held on September 1 between Ashton and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif, bilateral meetings were called for among the E3, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Iran, as well as between the United States and Iran at a political director level.

On August 31, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Iran was ready to continue negotiations with the P5+1 group of international mediators, comprising Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and China, to reach a final agreement on the nuclear issue.

Rouhani warned that Iran would not accept any discriminatory approaches to the matter and demanded that the country be provided with absolute rights equal to those of the other members of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

In November 2013, Iran and the P5+1 group adopted a one-year action plan that saw the lifting of some sanctions and a concession to Tehran that allows the country to conduct certain nuclear activities in exchange for greater transparency of its nuclear program.

The mediation group should work out a long-term comprehensive agreement by November 24, 2014.
