MOSCOW, September 3 (RIA Novosti) – The Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday called the circumstances around the death of Rossiya Segodnya photographer Andrei Stenin in eastern Ukraine “shocking.”
“It is with great pain and confusion that we received the information revealing the shocking circumstances of the death of Rossiya Segodnya photojournalist Stenin, who was last heard from by his editorial desk on August 5,” the ministry said in a statement.
Russian investigators confirmed earlier on Wednesday that Stenin was among those killed during an attack on a convoy of at least 10 vehicles carrying civilians in early August near Donetsk in eastern Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed its sincere and deep grief to the photographers family and friends, and expressed its emphathy and solidarity to Stenin's coworkers in Rossiya Segodnya, as well as to the entire Russian journalistic community.
