TEV AVIV, August 21 (RIA Novosti) – The threats made by Palestinian fighters have not affected Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, a representative for the airport told RIA Novosti Thursday.

“Which effect was caused by the new threats? There was no effect at all,” the representative said.

On Wednesday, Hamas’ military wing called on international airlines to abort flights to Tel Aviv starting from 3:00 a.m. GMT, Thursday. In July, a rocket exploded in the vicinity of the airport, causing the US and some European airlines to suspend flights to Tel Aviv.

As of Thursday, the majority of Hamas rocket attacks have been aimed at southern Israel, near the border with the Gaza Strip, many miles away from the Tel Aviv airport, Israel’s civil defense services reported.

Mutual attacks resumed on Tuesday, unwinding the five-day ceasefire and peace talks in Egypt. Since the beginning of the conflict, more than 2,000 Palestinians, mostly civilians, and 66 Israelis have been killed.
