MOSCOW, August 19 (RIA Novosti) - At least 160 people were killed in floods and landslides caused by days of torrential rain in Nepal and northern India, BBC reports.

101 people in Nepal were confirmed dead while 130 remain missing; in India at least 60 people were reported dead.

Despite the fact that the worst of the rain is believed to be over, many roads throughout the region were made impassable and numerous communities became literally isolated. Emergency supplies are being delivered to the stranded via helicopters.

The Nepalese officials are also concerned about a possibility of cholera outbreak, according to BBC.

Both India and Nepal have suffered from floods in recent weeks. Earlier this month 156 people were killed by floods along the Nepal-China border.
