Foreign Ministers of Russia, Germany, France, Ukraine Finish Talks in Berlin
The foreign ministers of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine have finished the talks on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict in Berlin, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported late on Sunday.
BERLIN, August 18 (RIA Novosti) - The foreign ministers of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine have finished the talks on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict in Berlin, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported late on Sunday.
The ministers left the Villa Borsig hotel after an almost five-hour meeting.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier is expected to give a speech soon. Earlier he said that the ministers gathered in Berlin in order "to try to make steps towards a ceasefire."
This is the second time the four countries have held negotiations on the situation in Ukraine in this format. On July 2, Sergei Lavrov, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Francois Hollande and Pavlo Klimkin met in Berlin. Following the results of the two-hour negotiations, the four came up with a joint declaration strongly reconfirming their commitment to sustainable peace and stability in Ukraine.
