BEIRUT, July 25 (RIA Novosti) – Two rockets targeting north Israel were fired from Lebanon overnight on Friday, Lebanon’s National News Agency said Friday.

According to the agency, the rockets missed their targets and landed on the Lebanese side. No casualties have been reported.

“The Lebanese Army started searching for rockets platforms in the vicinity of Kfar Hamam and Fardiss while ISF [Internal Security Forces] opened investigation in the incident,” NNA said.

Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International television station announced that the Israeli Army responded to the attack by firing artillery shells.

Israel’s north has been subject to a series of similar attacks from Lebanon in July, triggering retaliatory shelling on the Israeli side.

The Lebanese Army has ramped up security in the country’s south and blocked the Palestinian refugee camp south of the city of Tyre. Strict measures have been imposed in the region south of the Litani River.
