The United States has still not provided any information to Russia regarding the actions of a Russian citizen, charged with cybercrime, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Special Representative for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law Konstantin Dolgov told RIA Novosti.

MOSCOW, July 24 (RIA Novosti) – The United States has still not provided any information to Russia regarding the actions of a Russian citizen, charged with cybercrime, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Special Representative for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law Konstantin Dolgov told RIA Novosti.

“The information on the US concerns related to the Russian citizen’s actions has not yet been provided, despite the 1999 agreement … We hold our ground and will demand that taking Russian citizens in custody in third countries under special American orders without prior notification of Russian authorities must be stopped,” Dolgov said.

He added that the Russian Embassy in Spain, where Vadim Polyakov, 30, is detained, are in touch with Spanish authorities and Polyakov’s lawyers.

“As is the procedure in such cases, we insist that his rights, procedural rights, be observed, and our task is to ensure his soonest return to Russia,” the representative said.

He added that “extradition to the United States, as we can see, does not deliver justice.”

Dolgov was cautious to predict the actions of Spanish authorities but said there was always the possibility of extradition.

Vadim Polyakov, Nikolay Matveychuk and Sergei Kirin are among seven people around the world that have been charged with a cybercrime of illegally accessing 1,600 user accounts at ticket-selling website StubHub.

Allegedly, Vadim Polyakov and Nikolay Matveychuk bought more than 3,500 tickets illegally and then emailed them to three Americans, who resold the tickets and were helped by several other people, including Sergei Kirin, to launder the money via international wire transfers and online money transfer service PayPal.

Polyakov was arrested on July 3 during his vacation near Barcelona. Matveychuk and Kirin remain in Russia.
