Russian airline Transaero has decided to resume regular flights to Israel after consultations with the management of Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport and the world's leading airline companies, the company said.

MOSCOW, July 24 (RIA Novosti) – Russian airline Transaero has decided to resume regular flights to Israel after consultations with the management of Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport and the world's leading airline companies, the company said.

"Having conducted all necessary consultations with both the Israeli Ben Gurion Airport management and the world's leading airline companies, Transaero Airlines has decided to resume regular flights en-route Moscow-Tel Aviv," the company said Thursday.

"In the future, all Transaero flights between Russia and Israel will be performed in accordance with our schedule," the statement said.

The statement also noted that the airline continues to "monitor very closely the situation in Israel, bearing in mind that the safety of flights is always a priority."

Due to deterioration of the situation on the border with the Gaza Strip, all US and major European airlines suspended their flights to Israel. Russian companies Transaero and Aeroflot returned their planes following from Moscow to Tel Aviv. Aeroflot then resumed its flights on Wednesday with Transaero reporting earlier that it would make a decision by Thursday morning. Both companies provided their passengers with food and accommodated them in hotels.
