MOSCOW, July 22 (RIA Novosti) - Four people, including three foreigners and an Afghan interpreter, died in an explosion Tuesday morning near Kabul Airport, Reuters reported, quoting local police.

"Our initial reports show the explosion took place inside the foreigners' compound, four foreigners were killed and six were wounded," ABC quoted Kabul police chief Zahir Zahir as saying.

The explosion took place in the vicinity of the Kabul International Airport, located about 10 miles from Kabul’s city center. The nationalities of the foreigners are not clear and information on the injured is not final.

According to Afghan news agency Pajhwok, the incident took place at 7:00 a.m. local time (2:30 GMT). An explosive device was fixed to a motorbike, and detonated across the street from a foreign company office by a suicide bomber. According to Pajhwok, Taliban claimed responsibility for the terrorist act.

The United States plans to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan by the end of the year, despite fears that the move may destabilize the region by letting the Taliban act with impunity. The United States’ allies are likely to follow suit and pull out by the end of 2016.
