Google has closed a one-day public sale of its experimental computer-enabled glasses, an announcement on the company’s website said.

MOSCOW, April 16 (RIA Novosti) – Google has closed a one-day public sale of its experimental computer-enabled glasses, an announcement on the company’s website said.

“We're out of spots in the Explorer Program for now, but may have more to share soon,” the company said.

Under the offer, all US residents were eligible to buy the so-called Explorer Edition model of Google Glass for $1,500 for one day only, April 15. The model is meant for developers and the company admits the product remains unfinished.

A consumer version of Google Glass is expected to be released later this year.

Google launched the campaign because it wanted to hear feedback from those who have not been able to get into the Explorer Program so far, according to the company's Google Plus website.

The tech giant first unveiled its wearable computer in April, 2012. The prototype resembled standard eyeglasses with a lens replaced by a heads-up display. The Explorer Edition was later debuted under a limited release.
