MINSK, October 2 (RIA Novosti) – Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko lashed out at the United States in an interview aired Wednesday, likening US President Barack Obama’s talk of American exceptionalism to Nazi rhetoric.
The remarks came in response to a televised appeal last month by Obama calling for US citizens to support the prospect of military intervention in Syria in the name of what he described as American exceptionalism.
Lukashenko said the sentiment was “dangerous and counterproductive.”
“There are 300 million people [in the United States]. They, as it once was in Germany, are beginning to sense that theirs is a special race, special blood, special exceptionalism, and they should restore world order and bring everybody to their standards,” Lukashenko told Kazakhstan television channel 24KZ.
Lukashenko also referenced Obama’s racial background in his criticism of the US leader.
“Only very recently, black people in America were slaves, and now today they’re claiming some kind of exceptionalism,” he said. “I never thought that a man coming out of poverty would be able to pursue such rhetoric in the world.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin also slammed the idea of US exceptionalism last month in a New York Times op-ed piece in which he described the concept as “extremely dangerous,” arguing that God had created everyone equal.
Lukashenko is no stranger to impolitic and off-color remarks.
Last year, he hit out at criticism from German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, who had called Lukashenko “Europe’s last dictator,” by remarking that he would “rather be a dictator than gay."
Westerwelle is his country’s first openly gay minister.

- akbarPolitical suicide by Khamenei or just a conspiracy to save the dictatorship?19:34, 02/10/2013The concept of so called Rohani as a president(Politically and religiously,an insignificant entity by Iranian standards) by Ayatollah Khamenei was a pure act of political suicide considering the gradual decrease in popularity for Islamists since the public lynching of late Khomeni's dead body on june 1989,in Tehran. The 2009 Iranian presidential election clearly demonstrated the Iranian voters dislike for Ayatollarchy(Advocates for Sharia above legislative, judicial and executive branches) in which Builders party won (62% led by Ahmadinejad),reformist(31% led by Mousavi&Kahroubi) and only 7% for principalist(Ayatollah Khamenei&co).
Ayatollah Khamenei denied the wishes of 93% of Iranian voters in 2013 election, when he rejected their candidates for presidency and instead imposed his own man as a president.I am 100% confident that Iranians will revolt against ayatollah Khamenei and his gangs soon and they will get rid of islamists, unless Iran gets attacked by NATO&co.Why?In1979 when the late Ayatollah Khomeni included the Sharia laws into Iranian constitution in an incedious manner(Similar to Morsi in Egypt),Iranian revolutionaries called out to people for a nationwide general strike and the resignation of Ayatollah Khomeni.Iranians came out on the streets in millions and it seemed nothing can save Khomeni, until suddenly without any reason or logic,Pentagon ordered Sadam'military to attack Iran, and that forced Iranians to drop their demands for the resignation of Khomeni and instead unite to defend Iran and that saved Khomeni for a decade and Islamic dictatorship upto now.Logic dictates that unless western imperialism attackes Iran very soon, ayatollah Khamenei and his president are toasts and gone for sure.In fact so fast, before even Khamenei get to pick the next year cherry.
PS,I tried to put this on RT,but MI5 and Mossad infiltrates, kept deleting it.Perhaps some of you,can try it but make sure is devide into two sections, due to being a large comment.
Long live president Putin.
- bielecWell said19:35, 02/10/2013Here is the problem, though. These western politicians don't say what they think and believe. They say and do what they are told to say and do by their masters. It is well known that these "masters" come from an old tradition of "chosen people."
- qwerty14Amerikan Exceptionalism written by an Amerikan00:12, 03/10/2013A lot of people are offended by the words "American execptionalism". I think most of you misunderstand what they mean. American dream, American exceptionalism, and The Land of Opportunity are not brags about how wonderful America is, they are demands for use ordinary American folk to bow to.
Yes there are rich people in America. Yes included among the rich are people who came here from other nations. They live on the backs of us common folk.
Have you ever seen the weary faces of Americans and immigrants riding buses and trains home from work? Some people spend as much as 2 hours each way, going and coming from work. Their jobs do not pay well enough to buy them a car. Some people's jobs do not even pay well enough to pay for a roof over their heads, they sleep at the airport when they get off work.
You will not see many hovels in America. That is not because we are all rich. It's because the local governments would tear them down and force the occupants to sleep behind a dumpster rather than have the world see how poor many Americans are. The rich want to maintain that dream image so that you in the rest of the world will hock the rest of your lives to pay your own way to American to pursue the golden dream. Many of you end up behind the dumpster or sleeping at the airport with us native born, or as virtual slaves.
When the high and mighyt speak of American exceptionalism they are really telling us ordinary folk that we are not working hard enough or sacrificing enough to maintain the illusion they want to present to the world.
If you are offended by the notion of American exceptionalism, please be offended at those who actually speak such things. Please do not be angry at us ordinary Americans.

coming from a tin pot despot whom likens his own country to that of National Socialist Party in 1995.
"the history of Germany is a copy of the history of Belarus. Germany was raised from ruins thanks to firm authority and not everything connected with that well-known figure Hitler was bad. German order evolved over the centuries and attained its peak under Hitler."(PPR;05/05/2013)
