MOSCOW, September 1 (RIA Novosti) – The Syrian opposition has expressed disappointment by US President Barack Obama’s decision to delay possible military intervention in Syria until the congressional approval.
"We had a feeling of disappointment. We were expecting things to be quicker, that a strike would be imminent... But we believe Congress will approve a strike," AFP quoted Samir Nashar, a top official at the Syrian National Coalition, as saying.
Syrian National Coalition spokesman Louay Safi called the decision a "failure of leadership" by the US and said the “lack of action could embolden the regime and they repeat the attacks in a more serious way," CNN reported.
Obama said on Saturday he had decided that the United States should take military action against targets in Syria, reiterating US assertions that the government of President Bashar Assad was to blame for the apparent use of chemical weapons in the Syrian civil war.
But Obama went on to say that the decision was too important for any president to take alone and required a national debate in order for the will of the American people to be heard through the legislative branch of government.
Russian President Vladimir Putin slammed the US on Saturday saying that Washington’s allegations about the Syrian regime’s use of chemical weapons against civilians were "unimaginable nonsense.”

- BlizzardEasy way out15:31, 01/09/2013It is more than clear that opposition is disappointed with postponement of military strikes. That was their main idea when they orchestrated gas attack in Damascus.
American president Obama should be ashamed for the speech he had yesterday in a White House explaining his decision to attack Syria.
Main reason for embarrassment was that in his accusations of Syrian regime violating the international law he completely dismissed fact that everything he used could be easily used against US and Israel.
Beside facts that accusations were fabricated he did not shy from appearing as a blatant liar in front of the whole world. He just showed that as a person has extremely low level of morality and very high in cynicism. Obama is showing his real face and he knows that now it is time to hide behind US public as he hopes that it will be public (Congress) vote which would stop illegal aggression.
Decision of all allays is very clear and undoubtedly very powerful for the rest of the world to express their disappointment with US international policy - bullying.
Even other countries (namely Germany) expressed strong doubt in existing evidence which are in US possessions. The same source (Israelis MOSAD) was fabricating evidence of Irak's WMD and which caused US and UK to go to illegal war against Irak. Consequences of that idiotic and criminal act are visible today more than ever. As the days passes by more and more dead civilians are turning out and after more than 10 years of massacre and atrocities performed by US led NATO forces US want's to pull out and leave ravaged country to their fate.
Israelis Zionists would like to see war at their end of the world as that would put the eyes of international community from their atrocities and criminal behavior against Palestinians.
Obama is behaving as a primitive and cheap criminal, instead cleaning up their mess and returning safety and order in country they are running away as scared rats.
Rebels in Syria were the only one who would profit from such criminal act of gassing innocent civilians as offering a pretext excuse for Obama to attack Syria and do the job they started but are not able to finish as they have no popular support. Who on earth would like to pass from secular state to Sharia ruled state? Who would like to trade current liberties with strict Islamic laws and life?
Obama and his US cronies said that only Syrian government had gas and means to deliver it. Obviously Obama thinks that the rest of the world especially EU are illiterate as Americans are. If Obama does know mass usage of gas started in Europe during WW1 and therefore we know how easy is to use it.
There is no need for any sophistication in deliver the gas. All that would take is the in whose boot is the gas canister with remote release and drive through town.
Every rebel could do that without any rockets or anything else. That much about Obama's understanding of applying a gas. It is easy and very safe for the rebels as they would drive through streets for which they know people do not like them.
EU recognized that

...to be the martyr whom drives through town in the glorious conveyance that secures the 'gas canister' as it off gases. Preferably, it should have a hose leading straight from the 'boot'
to the drivers seat.
- bielecAnother aspect of this Syria war hype...19:13, 01/09/2013...could be that Obama and Kerry are trying to focus media attention away from the embarrassing fact that the White House sponsored new peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israel failed miserably.
As soon as the talks started, Israel sabotaged them by approving new settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and by committing military atrocity against Palestinians.
In response to these obvious provocations, Palestinians discontinued the negotiations. As always, Israel will now claim that the failure of peace talks was caused by the Palestinians.
Sabotaging any chance of success in peace talks has been a long standing Israeli policy and has been repeated countless times. Israel does not want peace, Israel wants to annex the occupied territories and ethnically cleanse them. It has been consistently doing this since 1948.
For Obama and Kerry, this failure is extremely embarrasing and politically damaging. They had to invent something to "hide it." Now, the world's attention is focused on Syria and the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks have been forgotten.

Ahh, yes, I see. Thanks, that explains everything.
Once again, while the impotent Russians do absolutely nothing in facilitating new initiatives in regards to Israeli/Palestinian peace talks, Obama and Kerry are embarrassed politically and perceived as total failures for TRYING. As a result, they then cloak themselves by hiding behind ‘…this Syria war hype…’to divert attention away from a perceived failure by addressing another critical issue in that dysfunctional sectarian commode known as the Middle East.
Absolutely. Bleeding. Brilliant.
Yes, I must say, that is quite the true/delusional revelation, indeed. Moreover, it is as remotely plausible to materialize in reality as the asinine statement below made in one of your other OCD posts regarding Syria:
‘China and Japan should make it a priority to become allies.
Chinese manufacturing potential, supplemented with Japanese technology and Africa's mineral resources, would create an enormous economic and political superpower. This would be a better perspective for Japan than "friendship" with a declining U.S.A.’
This is great entertainment. The ‘realm of reality’ where this nonsense manifests from in your psychic apparatus would certainly fill volumes of psychoanalytic literature.
Carry on, please.

Some people are trying to make the reality in Russia at least a bit more humane. The amnesty should apply not only to persons involved in high-profile cases, but also to individuals who are not as well-known. It is better to set free at least some of the individuals who deserve to be released than no one at all.
