GAZA, January 2 (RIA Novosti) - Dozens of Palestinians were injured in clashes with Israeli servicemen, who arrested a suspected member of a radical Islamist group in the West Bank on Tuesday, the local Maan news agency reported.
Clashes began when a group of Israel’s counter-terrorism unit Mista’arvim, dressed as vendors, arrested suspected Islamic Jihad member Murad Bani Odeh the village of Tamoun, south of Jenin.
The head of the local committee against settlements Ahmed Assad said at least 30 people were wounded by rubber bullets and live rounds, while about 100 suffered tear gas inhalation.
Israel’s Ynet news portal said three Israeli servicemen were slightly wounded when Palestinians threw rocks at them.
