BUENOS AIRES, November 11 (RIA Novosti) – Chilean rescuers are searching for three European tourists, including a Russian national, who went missing while climbing one of Latin America’s most active volcanoes, the local media reported on Sunday.

Three days of searching for the three European tourists identified as Dmitry Sivenkov, 32, from Russia; Gillhem Bellon, 25, from France; and Luca Ogliengo, 25, from Italy have yielded no results so far.

The hikers went on an expedition to climb the Villarica volcano in Chile's central valley early this week. The missing Europeans have not been heard since Wednesday evening when the Russian tourist called his girlfriend who lives in the nearby community and told her it was getting dark and the group had decided to sleep over at the volcano and descend the next day.

The search for the missing tourists started on Thursday morning. The search teams have found the path, which the hikers used to climb the volcano. Ogliengo's family has rented a helicopter to join the search.
