Twenty one people were injured after two passenger trains collided in Slovakia’s capital Bratislava on Friday, Slovak news agency SITA reported.

The agency said citing local police spokeswoman Petra Hraskova that one passenger train rammed into the last railcar of another one. She added that the cause of the accident is still unknown.

All the injured were taken to hospitals in Bratislava with one of the passengers staying in intensive care in critical condition.

Slovak Interior Minister Robert Kalinak and Transportation Minister Jan Pociatek have arrived at the scene of the accident.

A similar accident occurred in Slovakia’s Spisska Nova Ves town two years ago, when a locomotive with faulty brakes crashed into a passenger train at a station, leaving three people dead and 15 injured.
