At least 15 people were killed and 17 others injured on Saturday in an explosion at a market in northwestern Pakistan, local media reported.
A powerful bomb, which was reportedly detonated by a suicide bomber, targeted an office of a pro-government militia in the restive Darra Adam Khel region, where banned Pakistani Taliban used to have a strong presence.
The death toll may rise because scores of people were wounded in the blast as the market was crowded when the explosion took place.
The blast also destroyed at least 20 market booths and eight cars parked in the vicinity.
Security forces cordoned off the area and a search operation is underway.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, although Taliban have carried out similar bombings in the past.
