The founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assange appeared for the first time in two months on public on the balcony at the embassy of Ecuador in London calling on the USA to end the hunt for the creators of the website and its supporters around the world.

“I ask President Obama to do the right thing; the United States must renounce its witch hunt against WikiLeaks. United States must vow that it will not seek to prosecute our staff or our supporters…. United States must pledge before the world that it will not pursue journalists for shining a light on the secret crimes of the powerful,” Assange said.

He called on to release those who have suffered for trying to "reveal the truth" in particular the U.S. soldier Bradley Manning, who is accused in the United States for giving the U.S. government documents to WikiLeaks. He mentioned many other cases of violations of freedom of speech and expression in the world.

Julian Assange, 41, has been in the Embassy of Ecuador in London for two months since he asked the authorities of the Latin American country to grant him a political asylum to avoid extradition to Sweden where he will face questioning about alleged sex crimes. Last week Ecuador confirmed that it is ready to give him asylum.

But since the notorious founder of WikiLeaks is on the international wanted list he cannot leave the embassy otherwise the British police will immediately arrest him.
