Ukraine is to extradite a second suspect to Russia on suspiction of involvement in an attempt to kill President Vladimir Putin, the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's office said on Wednesday.

The suspect was named as Ilya Pyanzin, a citizen of Kazakhstan.

The move comes a day after an Odessa Regional court ordered the extradition to Russia of Adam Osmayev, from Grozny in Russia's Republic of Chechnya, who is accused of masterminding the plot against Putin.

Ukrainian General Prosecutor's office representative Yury Boychenko says it may send Osmayev home in the near future.

The attempted plot was uncovered when the plotters, who were on an international wanted list, were detained in Odessa in early January, following an explosion in their rented apartment, Russian TV Channel One said in February.

The news of the attempted plot was released at the height of Putin's campaign to be reelected as president of Russia in the March 4 election.
