At least 16 people were killed on Sunday in a series of blasts and gunfire in northern Nigeria’s city of Kano, the BBC cited Nigerian Red Cross officials as saying.
Six people were in serious condition. According to emergency services, there were three explosions at Bayero University campus. Students taking part in a Sunday morning church service may have been the attack’s target.
No group has claimed it was behind the attack, but the Islamist Boko Haram group, active in Kano, recently attacked churches.
